Crozes Hermitage is an appellation from Northern Rhone Valley in France.

There have been vineyards in the Rhone Valley since Antiquity. Number of archeological findings dating back to the Romans come as evidence of it. In the Middle Ages, the influence of the Catholic Church has allowed the Rhone vineyards to thrive, putting the great Terroirs of the Rhone Valley in the limelight. The wine of Condrieu was at the time used as sacramental wine, aged in the underground galeries that run underneath the village.
Grape Variety: 100% Syrah
Tasting
First, Crozes Hermitage, J Denuziere 2020 as an intense robe with deep purple reflections. Then, the nose is powerful with notes of blackcurrant, blueberries and white pepper. Overall, the palate is silky and complex with clear notes of berries, jam and a toasty finish.
Wine and food pairing
Drink at 14 to 16°C. A great companion for cold cuts, grilled poultry and ripened cheeses such as a Pont L’Eveque or a Camembert.
