Calvados A.O.C. Selection Drouin
:Calvados Pays d’Auge” needs to undergo lengthy ageing in oak casks to reach full maturity.
It is produced from apple and pears. The alcohol is distilled only once in a column. It still offers a range of flavours dominated by the fruit, and can be enjoyed young.
Great for those who appreciate this spirit as a long drink at aperitif time. You can also enjoy it with cocktail recipes or with food such as cold cut and or cheese platter.
Tasting Notes: “Light gold in the glass, the scent suggests fresh apple and pear, honeysuckle and vanilla. The palate is light, showing lots of vanilla, hints of fruit and an intriguing, very faint smokiness on the clove-accented finish. Sip or mix.” Kara Newman (Spirits Editor wine enthusiast).
