Chateau Grand Pey Lescours, Saint Emilion Grand Cru, 2015
Monsieur Bouldy, of Château Bellisle-Mondotte and Bellegrave fame in Pomerol – has been looking after Château Grand-Pey-Lescours since the late 1980s.
Indede, Chateau Grand Pey Lescours, 25 hectare Grand Cru estate is based just outside of St Emilion.
Farmed organically on clay-limestone soils, it is planted predominantly with Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Grand-Pey-Lescours is arguably the definition of quality and value in Saint-Emilion – if not Bordeaux itself. Certainly worth the wait.
Grape Variety: 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon
Tasting Notes: At first. the wine is dark purple/red in the glass. Then on the nose, you will enjoy full of ripe plum and prune notes with hints of cedar wood and spice. Overall, the palate is round . Lovely, juicy and vibrant with a generous prune and bramble finish.
Food Pairing Suggestions: A very elegant wine to enjoy with noble meat such as turkey, veal, Duck or Beef. A great companions with a Cheese platter.
