Calvados A.O.C. Selection Drouin
While “Calvados Pays d’Auge” needs to undergo lengthy ageing in oak casks to reach full maturity, a Calvados produced from apple and pears and distilled only once in a column still offers a range of flavours dominated by the fruit, and can be enjoyed young.
Tasting Notes: “Light gold in the glass, the scent suggests fresh apple and pear, honeysuckle and vanilla. The palate is light, showing lots of vanilla, hints of fruit and an intriguing, very faint smokiness on the clove-accented finish. Sip or mix.” Kara Newman (Spirits Editor wine enthusiast)
