Brouilly L’enfert des Balloquets
Domaine Robert Perroud, 2020
Awards: 91 Wine Enthusiast – 90 James Suckling
Estate History: Since 1739. The wine named after the steep slope of the Balloquets
hills. 40% steep. Indeed it is a real “hell” for the harvesters of Robert PERROUD to handpick the grapes every year.
Grape Variety: 100% Gamay Noir
Farming: Estate certified HVE. Sustainable farming.
Tasting Notes: At first, a red garnet robe with cherry tints. Then, the nose is complex showing redberries, flowers and spicy notes. Overall, the palate is silky and round, with a
lot of fruits and mineral on the finish.
Food Pairing recommendations: Try it with grilled meat, roasted chicken, and why
not mexican food.
Fruity and Savory with an aging potential up to 5 years
Service: Drink from 13°C
Robert Perroud, wine maker: « Everything is tailored to the needs of our vines and much effort is put forth by hand in the vineyard, because no great wine can be made without exceptional grapes! Which at my estate are handpicked, when fully ripened, by a happy
and loyal band of harvesters »
