Beaujolais Villages Pic Noir Fellot Emmanuel is an organic wine, vintage is 2024.
First and foremost, this is a delicate, mineral-driven Beaujolais-Villages. In fact, this new cuvée comes from a selection of plots on the Coteaux de Champey, where very old vines—more than 130 years old—are planted on a granite terroir characterised by distinctive blue rock.
Furthermore, the wine’s unique identity is reflected in its label design, created by Laurent Fellot. Following in the family’s ornithological tradition, Laurent has illustrated the largest member of the woodpecker family: the Black Woodpecker.
Interestingly, this magnificent bird lives in the forest opposite the family’s hillsides. As a result, it has become a symbol of a richly biodiverse woodland, home to numerous old trees. Every spring, it sings above the vines, adding to the charm and beauty of the surrounding landscape.
Appearance: Bright and brilliant ruby red 100% Gamay wine.
Aroma: An inviting spicy nose, offering a delicate aromatic lift and adding complexity to the wine’s fresh character.
Palate: Fluid, smooth and fruit-driven, with an easy-drinking texture and vibrant freshness. The wine’s supple style makes it particularly approachable and versatile.
Style: A fresh, spicy and fruity Pinot Noir with an elegant, flowing palate.
Food Pairing: Enjoy with poultry, white meats, charcuterie, light pasta dishes, mushroom preparations or soft cheeses.
Serving Temperature: Best served lightly chilled at approximately 13–15°C.
Comments from the Producer:
“In the family line, I operate today with my wife Nadège and my three daughters, around twenty hectares of vines between the Brouilly hill and the Nizerand valley Living in the “Pierres Dorées” in an area at the confluence between the woods, vines, and meadows, my estate and its beautiful luminous stones breathe the peasant tradition in the soul, the hillsides steep slopes, the cultivation of vines and aromatic plants are part of my daily life, I also raise cows rustic, 100 outdoor.”
