Famous appellation of Côte Chalonnaise, Rully is a little village where they produce mainly white wines (2/3 of total production). The best slopes are highly demanded.
First, Rully Red only uses grapes from Pinot Noir.
Then, situated north of the Côte Chalonnaise, the Rully vineyards span hillside terrain.
Those terrains are characterized by uneven grounds. Indeed, they offer a diverse range of soils, exposures, and elevations. characteristic from Rully region At last, the entire vineyard lies on the Rully plateau at about 300 meters above sea level, with an eastern exposure. The predominant soil type is calcareous clay, shallow in depth. It has a distinctive red hue. More importantly the soil has small pebbles, creating a striking contrast in color.
Ageing in oak barrels (including 20% of new oak barrels) for 11 months.
Tasting Notes: At first, Rully Red Naudin Pere & Fils 2023 has a bouquet of black (blackcurrant, blackberry) and red fruit such as cherries. The fine tannins blend with the redcurrant and raspberry aromas on the palate.
Food Pairing recommendations: A good parsley ham in the middle of a plate of charcuterie will be excellent! But it is certain that after two or three years of aging, a “blanquette de veau” or chicken with cream will ensure a successful meal!
