Chateau Francs Magnus Bordeaux Superieur 2018
Awards: “Like the depth of fruit and intensity to this Bordeaux Sup., which shows blackberry and blueberry character. Ripe tannins, too. Wait and see, but I like it. ~92 pts James Suckling ”
First, enjoying a fantastic location on the Fronsac terroir, Château Francs Magnus boasts an exceptional vineyard of 13 hectares, all in one piece, on the Right Bank of Bordeaux.
Then, the vineyard is planted on a limestone plateau covered with a thin layer of clay. Indeed, this limestone terroir, similar to that of Saint-Émilion, contributes a certain minerality and elegance to wines.
Grape Varieties: 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc.
The Château Francs Magnus 2018 is made with the greatest respect for both terroir and fruit. The vinification took place without crushing the berries, in order to preserve the freshness of the fruit. Frustoconical stainless steel tanks were used to make possible a smooth extraction of tannins and give the wine great elegance.
Tasting Notes: At first a deep colour. Then Aromas of black fruit notes. Overall, the finish is spicy and minty with intensity and freshness.

More history about the wine:
At first, Fronsac wines are a hidden gem among its Right Bank neighbours.
Indeed, they enjoy the privilege of being near by the famous name such as Petrus or Château Cheval Blanc, with high prices But Fronsac wines have an excellent value.
Since 2011, Chateau Francs Magnus belongs to the Roux-Oulié family. They also owns Chateau De Carlmagnus.
In addition to being a winemaker, Arnaud has another passion, Art. As an example, Arnaud has managed to connect his art with the wine in an exquisite way (have a look at the carlmagnus wine label).
With approximately 32 acres of vineyards, Château Francs Magnus has a privileged terroir, located on a limestone plateau.
