Cave de Ribeauvillé is one of the first 5 wineries in France to obtain the certification : HEV in France in 2020.
What is HEV?
High environmental value (HEV) corresponds to the highest level of a more general scheme of environmental certification for farms.
Above all, the farm environmental certification is a voluntary approach. Therefore, it aims to identify and promote environmentally-friendly practices applied by farmers.
HEV covers four key areas:
First biodiversity conservation, but also plant protection strategy and management of fertiliser use, as well as management of water.

First, Cave de Ribeauvillé covers a single vineyard of 235 hectares with 8 Grands Crus and numerous terroirs of great value.

Then a quality charter manages the entire estate. It guarantees manual harvesting, strict control of yields, work in the vineyard using reasoned control or organic farming.

All the grapes are brought to the press in whole bunches.  The juice then flows by simple gravity into the vats. Thanks to state-of-the-art equipment, the wines of the Cave de Ribeauvillé respect the purity of the grape variety and the identity of each terroir. The wines are frank, straight, fresh, fruity and express all the richness of the great Alsatian terroirs.
