On the other hand its perfect exposure to the east gives it the capacity to produce splendid wines. Nuits-St-Georges is one of the famous village of Burgundy.
Grape Variety: 100% Pinot Noir
Tasting Notes: At first, Nuits Saint Georges Naudin Peres & Fils has an aromatic bouquet. Then you taste reminiscent of blackcurrants and the berries of other little red fruits.
Overall you will feel the animal smells of musk and fur, and often liquorice when the wine will mature.
Food Pairing recommendations: Nuits-St-Georges is a good partner for meat cook with red wine sauces,
marinated or roast game, strong grilled or roast red meats ; medium tasting cheeses.
To drink until 8-10 years. Temperature of service: 16-17°C.
Nuits-Saint-Georges is a likeable and lively town with a centuries-old history of winemaking. It gives its name to the Côte de Nuits, and its patron saint, Saint Georges, gives his name to their most famous wine. Its AOC, which dates from September 1936, includes the commune of Premeaux-Prissey in the appellation. Most of the wines grown here are Pinot Noir, but there are some plots planted with Chardonnay (quite rare though).
