Château de la Turmelière

Muscadet Sèvre et Maine Sur Lie

First, Château de la Turmelière  is an old property situated in Château Thébaud along the Maine River.

Then, destroyed by fired during the French revolution it is now owned by the De Vallois Familly. Family Cherreau Carré bought the vineyard in 2015.

Grape Variety : 100% Melon de Bourgogne

Terroir:

First, the vines were planted on a plateau with a south exposure on the Maine River. Then, the 10 hectares are planted 100% with Melon de Bourgogne.

Overall, the vines are aged between 25 and 40 years old. The schistous identity of the Terroir brings a lot of minerality into the wine.

Tasting Notes: First, the color is yellow pale. Then, on the nose, the wine is very fresh and fruity, with subtle citrus notes. Overall, in mouth we are surprised by aromas of white flowers and juicy fruits.

Last but not least, the finish is nicely mineral.

Food Pairing recommendation: The wine is always nice with seafood, it will also pair very well with fish and white meat such as Veal Blanquette or chicken.
