Gigondas red Remy Ferbras
Gigondas red Remy Ferbras Vintage is 2021
Nestled at the foot of the Dentelles de Montmirail, Gigondas conceals wonderful hillsides shaped over the centuries by men. The soils are made up of alluvial terraces of pebbly red clay.
Grape Varieties: Grenache – Syrah – Mourvèdre
Cellaring Potential: 7 to 9 years
Tasting Notes: The wine displays a deep, intense ruby colour that immediately suggests concentration. On the nose, it opens with expressive aromas of candied blackberry. Gradually, notes of leather and blond tobacco add savoury complexity and character. On the palate, this full-bodied red wine delivers power and richness. Its noticeable tannic structure provides depth and excellent ageing potential. However, elegant acidity balances the wine’s intensity and creates a fresher, more refined finish. Consequently, each sip feels both generous and well-defined.
Food Pairing recommendations: game meat, beef or a local cheese such as Saint Marcellin or Saint Felicien.
This structured Rhône red wine makes a perfect match for roasted pigeon with mushrooms. The tender meat complements the wine’s power, while the mushrooms echo its earthy, savoury nuances. Serve the wine at 15–17°C to reveal its full aromatic expression. For the best experience, enjoy it between five and seven years of age, when its fruit, tannins, and oak character should reach a harmonious balance.
