Châteauneuf du Pape is both the most prestigious appellation in Southern Rhône and a town. Moreover, La Cour des Papes means the Court of the Popes which is a hint dating back to the 14th century when several Popes had their resting residence in the town Chateauneuf. Southern Rhône Valley own-appellation wine (cru).
Discover the exquisite Grandes Serres vintage, a harmonious blend of Grenache, Cinsault, and Syrah sourced from parcels of lime sand and round pebbles. Crafted from limestone-enriched lime sand, known for its fine texture, this wine embodies elegance, verticality, and refined tannins, complemented by a rich yet refreshing aroma. Meanwhile, the round pebbles contribute opulence, fruity vibrancy, and a delightful saline essence, creating a truly explosive terroir fusion.
Carefully selected, ripe grapes from low-yield vines undergo a meticulous 100% whole-cluster winemaking process, followed by precise aging in barrels and concrete tanks. The result is a subtly peppery wine, showcasing generous red berry flavors and subtle spice notes, culminating in a tender and enveloping nectar of exceptional finesse.

Tasting comments: “The 2020 Chateauneuf du Pape La Cour Des Papes offers up charming scents of cherries, stone fruit and garrigue, showing excellent ripeness, even a touch of surmaturité, without going over the top. Full-bodied and supple yet concentrated, this blend of 70% Grenache, 20% Mourvèdre and 10% Syrah is a fine effort, produced from a mix of purchased fruit and wine.”
Tasting notes for Châteauneuf du Pape:
At first the colour is very appealing,. Then a very intense, deep and brilliant red in colour in the glass.
The nose: is complex with some reminiscent of red fruit, leather, liquorice and spices. At last, the palate is clean. You feel a generous and onctuous mouth filling. Last but not least you will end on soft tannings with a lingering and aromatic finish!
