Bring the Aperol Spritz to your table.

Indeed It is an excellent accompaniment to your gatherings.

First, this alcohol is a distinctive aperitivo beverage known for its bright, vibrant orange color and unique flavor.

Indeed, Its lively hue and perfectly balanced bittersweet taste derive from a closely guarded original recipe that has remained a well-kept secret since its inception.

Last but not least, renowned as the iconic bright-orange Italian aperitivo, Aperol offers a harmonious blend of bitter notes and citrus flavors.

This Italian aperitif history dates back to the early 20th century and is closely tied to the Italian tradition of enjoying refreshing, low-alcohol drinks before meals.

First, it was created in 1919 by the Barbieri brothers, Luigi and Silvio, who owned the Barbieri company in Padua, Italy.

Indeed, the brothers developed the recipe after attending the International Fair of the Italian Ministry of Agriculture in Padua.

There, they encountered various herbal infusions. Their goal was to craft a light, refreshing aperitif suitable for a broad audience.

While the exact recipe remains a closely guarded secret, Aperol is known to contain a blend of bitter and sweet oranges, herbs, and roots, including gentian, rhubarb, and cinchona

Marketed mainly in Italy as a pre-meal drink, aligning with the Italian tradition of “aperitivo.” Its popularity grew steadily throughout the mid-20th century.

In the 1950s and 1960s, Aperol gained recognition for its versatility in cocktails, most notably as the key ingredient in the famous Aperol Spritz, a refreshing mix of Aperol, prosecco, and soda water.

Today, it remains one of the most recognizable Italian aperitifs, celebrated for its role in socializing and enjoying Italian culture. Its history reflects the rich tradition of Italian aperitivo culture and the enduring appeal of simple, flavorful beverages.

Did you know Highland Queen Blended Scotch Whisky ?

Established in 1893 by Roderick Macdonald, Highland Queen whisky boasts a rich and storied history.

Indeed, Macdonald, a respected Master blender acquired the Glenmorangie Distillery in 1918.

The purpose was to supply whisky for Highland Queen under his company, Macdonald and Muir Ltd.

Next, inspired by Leith’s connection to Mary Queen of Scots, who arrived there from France in 1561, the Highland Queen blend pays hommage to this historical figure.

Mary’s reign, marked by an uprising against Elisabeth I of England in 1567.

It ended tragically with her imprisonment and execution in 1587. Today, Highland Queen is the official blend of Tullibardine Distillery in the Scottish Highlands, owned by Terroirs Distillers, one of the few remaining independent Scotch whisky distillers.

Belsazar dry

Belsazar dry is a vermouth aperitif.

The production:

First, great wines are the basis for our vermouth. They only use carefully selected, regional wines from trusted partners that have the same aspiration. This is very important when it comes to quality and passion for such product.
Then, macerates are what give Belsazar its complex flavour. Indeed, the extracts from herbs, spices, blossom and husks are as varied as Berlin’s neighbourhoods. The macerates mature in large carboys.
Also, Belsazar’s finishing touch comes from a dash of fruit brandy. The Schladerer distillery has been producing fruit brandies using only natural ingredients since 1844.
The subtle sweetness of this alcohol comes from adding Black Forest grape must. To stop the must from fermenting, it is refined with brandy that has been left to mature in oak casks. This is where the slight hint of sherry comes from.
Last, all ingredients are mixed together during the filtration stage.

More importantly, the wine, fruit brandies and must become one. Indeed, this is when the vermouth starts to take shape – and all it takes is a delicate combination of skill, time and temperature.
The ageing process can take up to three months. Finally, the vermouth is stored in neutral casks to allow the liquid to develop its range of complex aromas. The ingredients are left to fuse with one another, uninhibited by aromas that would otherwise arise if the vermouth was stored in a wood cask. This is what gives this vermouth its refreshing taste, complexity and balance.

Tasting Notes: The aroma of summer fruits, chamomile and a hint of fresh yeast take centre stage, followed by bitter notes of gentian, Seville orange, cinchona, coriander and absinthe.

The brand identity:

As carefree as a warm summer night. As dry as Berlin humour. The best nights are those that happen without a plan.

Nine to five? Not us. We don’t plan – we live.

Belsazar is 100% natural with 0% compromise in taste. Then, it is for light, refreshing drinks and unforgettable moments.

Last it is the best drink. Whenever. Wherever.

Did you know ?

Established in 1893 by Roderick Macdonald, Highland Queen whisky boasts a rich and storied history.

Indeed, Macdonald, a respected Master blender, later acquired the Glenmorangie Distillery in 1918. The purpose was to supply whisky for Highland Queen under his company, Macdonald and Muir Ltd.

Next, inspired by Leith’s connection to Mary Queen of Scots, who arrived there from France in 1561, the Highland Queen blend pays homage to this historical figure. Mary’s reign, marked by an uprising against Elisabeth I of England in 1567, ended tragically with her imprisonment and execution in 1587. Today, Highland Queen is the official blend of Tullibardine Distillery in the Scottish Highlands, owned by Terroirs Distillers, one of the few remaining independent Scotch whisky distillers.

Rum Takamaka Saint Andre

First, Located 1,000 miles away from any other place, Takamaka home in the Seychelles is truly on the opposite side of the rum-making world.

Inspired by La Plaine St Andre, their distillery and plantation, Takamaka Bay offers an 8 Year Aged Rum that is exceptionally smooth.

Enjoy it on the rocks or in cocktails.

The St André Series is a collection of four rums that really show what we are about as rum makers.

They have been crafted to showcase a rich heritage and Creole traditions.

At the same time they are pushing the boundaries of conventional rum making.

Did you know about Rum Takamaka

First, La Plaine St André has been a part of the Takamaka story for over a decade.

However, its history dates back to the time of the first settlers in Seychelles.

Then, St. Jorre family in 1792 built it.

At this time La Plaine St André represented an estate amongst exotic gardens.

Named after Jean-Francois Jorre de St. Jorre’s birth town in Réunion, La Plaine St André covered over 60 acres of land at its peak.

Surely, they played a big role in the agricultural economy of the Seychelles. In the 1900s, they growed cinnamon, vanilla, coconut and patchouli for export to Europe.

Through the years, La Plaine St André has filled many functions as a coconut mill.

To name a few: National Monument, a boat repair yard, regal car garage, Eco Museum, restaurant and even an art gallery.

It has burnt down. Then, it’s been rebuilt. Finally at one point became neglected when funding was sparse.

In 2008, after four years of tenacious campaigning, Trois Frères Distillery was granted a 50 year lease on La Plaine St. André.

They spent the next two years lovingly and carefully restoring the grounds.

Together with the Seychelles Heritage Foundation, Richard and Bernard continue to preserve and promote the historical and cultural role of La Plaine St.André .

The owners also invite visitors to discover more about Seychelles Rum with visists.

Calvados A.O.C. Selection Drouin

:Calvados Pays d’Auge” needs to undergo lengthy ageing in oak casks to reach full maturity.

It is produced from apple and pears. The alcohol is distilled only once in a column. It still offers a range of flavours dominated by the fruit, and can be enjoyed young.

Great for those who appreciate this spirit as a long drink at aperitif time. You can also enjoy it with cocktail recipes or with food such as cold cut and or cheese platter.

Tasting Notes: “Light gold in the glass, the scent suggests fresh apple and pear, honeysuckle and vanilla. The palate is light, showing lots of vanilla, hints of fruit and an intriguing, very faint smokiness on the clove-accented finish. Sip or mix.” Kara Newman (Spirits Editor wine enthusiast).
