SAVOIE: Taste the Altitude from the French Alps

French GourMay is the one and only major festival in Hong Kong and Macau dedicated to gastronomy à la française, organized under the umbrella of French May Arts Festival. French cuisine is one of the few UNESCO-listed culinary cultures, and French wines are renowned all over the world.

Monsieur CHATTE Teams very proud to be part of this event from day one and for the 17^th year running.

This year, In 2026, the spotlight swings to the French Alps, where Savoie—tiny but bursting with personality—takes the stage. Tucked into southeastern France, it’s a patchwork of craggy peaks, high-altitude vines, and crisp alpine breezes. Vineyards cling to steep slopes and pour out mostly white wines that are zippy, elegant, and perfect for après-ski with gooey, iconic local cheeses.

With rare native grapes like Jacquère in the mix, Savoie flips the usual French wine script. Still a bit of a hidden gem, this alpine enclave beckons the curious to sip wines that belt out their mountain-born terroir.
