Ventoux is an appellation from Rhone Valley. It produces very fruity and fresh reds.
Côtes-du-Ventoux. Situated in southeast France along the lower slopes of the Ventoux Mountain, falling between Côtes du Rhône and Provence, is the Côtes du Ventoux Wine Region. While red, white and rosé wines are all produced here, it is the red blends that account for the majority of the production.
Ventoux’s red wines are supple and aromatic, their scents ranging from red fruit and spices to leather, liquorice and truffles.
Grape Variety: Syrah, Grenache, Mouvedre
At First, Ventoux AOP has a deep and bright ruby. Then, the nose has highlights of red fruits and spices. Fresh, complex and expressive nose of cherries and gooseberries.
Then, the palate is velvety and silky tannins completed by red fruits aromas and notes of leather.
Overall, the wine is well balanced with an enjoyable fresh finish to it.
Tasting tips: Serve this wine at 15 to 16C.
