Decanter selected Sillages d’Albarino in the TOP 12 “Top Wines of the Pays d’Oc”. He obtained 92 points.
At first, the producer looked for a fresh and floral grape variety which could be enhanced by Languedoc terroirs. That’s the reason why, they chose Albariño.
Originally from Galicia, it has made a new home in our Puichéric vineyard where oceanic and Mediterranean influences meet. It allows it to express its full richness.
Grape Variety: 100% Albariňo
Vineyard introduction and soil: Deep soils situated between the Canal du Midi and Étang de Marseillette in order to preserve the grapes’ freshness. Importantly the Mediterranean climate plays a great role with its oceanic influences. Lastly, rows oriented east to west to protect the bunches from the sun.
Tasting Notes: First, a complex bouquet of white fruit with honey and coconut notes. Overall, a generous fruity flavours on the palate with good balance and freshness.
Food Pairing Suggestions:
To enjot with with seared prawns, a grilled sole or a veal blanquette. A delicious pairing as well with sheep cheeses such as Ossau Iraty or lemon tart. try our delicious homemade one. The best in Town!
