Located in the Côte de Beaune, Domaine Dubreuil-Fontaine, a family owned Domaine for more than 140 years uses the noble grape varieties of Chardonnay and Pinot noir to make up its wide range of 22 appellations : starting from the fruity Bourgogne, to the lively village, from the prestigious Premier cru to the rare Grand Cru. Its vineyards cover the villages of: Pernand-Vergelesses, Aloxe-Corton and Savigny Les Beaune, Pommard, Beaune and Volnay.
Most importantly, Christine Dubreuil is a fifth-generation winemaker and owner of this Domaine located in Pernand-Vergelesses. As a result, her wines are elegant, charming, and delicious – each wonderfully depicting its vineyard.
Clos Berthet is a climat on the northern outskirts of Pernand-Vergelesses town within the Cote de Beaune region of Burgundy.
The walled vineyard lies across the valley from the Corton Grand Cru hill , which incorporates Pernand-Vergelesses’ own Le Charlemagne climat.
Pernand Vergelesses Clos Berthet Rouge is a monopole; which means it is owned in its entirety by Domaine Dubreuil-Fontaine, the only producer to make wine there.
Grape Variety: 100% Pinot Noir.
Tasting Notes: At first, a full of charm bouquet of red cherry, raspberry and touches of violet petals. Then, medium-bodied palate, with a smooth and rounded finish. Overall, the finish shows good volume and a good length.
Food Pairing Recommendations: Roasted Meat such as Pork tenderloin or Pork Fillet. A delight with artisan cheese platter or with cold cut platter.
