Domaine Gerard Millet Sancerre Blanc 2020

First, the vineyard is situated in the left side of La Loire facing Pouilly Fumé vineyard.
Then, this domaine is is a small property located in the famous hill of Sancerre.

The soil is typically chalky and clayey.

It is a typical wine making for whites. Importantly, berries are harvested around September 20th, then there are crushed and followed by a fermentation that last 15 days around.

Grape Variety: 100% Sauvignon Blanc

Tasting Notes: Domaine Gerard Millet Sancerre Blanc 2020  denotes a taste of blackcurrant bud, box and citrus fruits.

Food Pairing Suggestion: A great friend with goat cheese from the Loire Valley such as Chabichou du Poitou or Selles Sur cher AOP.  A great pairing as well with the Goat Cheese salad. It can also be paired with River and sea fish such as salmon.

 

Recipe of a Goat Cheese salad

Ingredients:

1 gourmet mix salad
2 Chavignol crottins
1 loaf of Bread ( Fig bread is a extra option for tasty flavors)
1 packet of plain bacon
2 tomatoes
3 tablespoons of olive oil
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar

Preheat the oven th.7 (210°C).

First, wash the salad and arrange the leaves on 4 plates. Then, wash the tomatoes, cut them into slices and arrange them on the salad. Then, brown the bacon cut in thin slices and let them  cool down. Importantly, to remove excess fat, place bacon on kitchen towel paper.

Furthermore, cut the goat cheese into slices and place it on the sliced bread slices. Put the toasts in the oven and brown for about 5 minutes. As soon as the sandwiches are golden brown, place them on the lettuce and tomatoes. For more sweetness, you can also add a little honey.

Finally, add bacon, browned and cooled. Season with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
