The history of this property is that of Serge Saint Martin himself. He produced his first bottles in 1982. At the time, he had only 1/2 of an acre of vineyards which he purchased after returning home from his military service. Today, through sheer personal strength, passion and artisanal values, he has grown to 43 acres. His wines are an expression of the “soil” of Lamarque, the village where he was born.
In 2007, Serge Saint Martin was joined by his son Maxime. Together they strive to combine tradition and modernity.

The Chateau Vieux Gabarey is located in the heart of the Medoc, surrounded by the vineyards of Margaux to the south, Saint-Julien to the north and Moulis to the west. Its rocky soil produces wines of great finesse and an excellent bouquet.
Grape Variety: Merlot Noir 50 %- Cabernet Sauvignon 42 %- Petit Verdot 5 % – Cabernet Franc 3 %
Tasting Notes: Excellent vintage 2015. Dense and brilliant ruby red in many shades of colour. Classic fragrance of a beautiful Bordeaux. Harmonious hints of blackcurrant,
fresh plums and wild berries with white pepper, red pepper and a hint of vanilla and dark chocolate. The taste is juicy, round and harmonious with gentle tannins.
