Chateau le Vieux Serestin, Medoc Cru Bourgeois, 2014, 75cl.
Silver Medal Bordeaux.
Located in the north of the Medoc appellation in the city of Cocqueques, Mr and Mrs Caster purchased the Chateau in 1982.
However, the Casters bought the estate in a state of abandon and proceeded to grub up all the vines and replanted all the vineyards. After that, the house and cellar was rebuilt several years later. Chateau Le Vieux Serestin was one of the first properties to be classified when Cru Artisan was introduced and later received the classification of Cru Bourgeois.
Grape variety : 44 % Cabernet Sauvignon , 44 % Merlot, 11% Petit verdot, 1% Cabernet Franc.
Tasting Notes: A lovely ruby robe. A fruity, wide nose with notes of dried fruits, vanilla and elegant spicy notes. A clean attack followed by a harmonious balance of fullness and roundness on the palate with a pleasant fruity finish. The long and persistent finish adds a few mocha notes. Good potential for aging.
Serve it around 16 C.
