Chardonnay Domaine de La Chesnaie 2020
First the Chateau near the vineyard has been destroyed and rebuilt in the 19th century in Renaissance style.
The Chéreau-Carré family took over the vineyard in 1960.
We are the last wine grower of the village of Basse-Goulaine situated at the edge of the city of Nantes.
In this estate we have grown Melon de Bourgogne and others grapes as Merlot, Chardonay, Sauvignon and Cabernet sauvignon.
Appellation: Vin de Pays du Val de Loire
Grape Variety: 100% Chardonnay
Terroir: The 15 years old vines are well situated on a sunny micaschist plateau protected from spring frost.
Harvest and Wine Making Process: Harvest occurs end of September followed by a pneumatic crushing. Fermentation last 15 days.
Tasting Notes: At first, Chardonnay Domaine de La Chesnaie 2020 has a yellow and very bright color. Then, the smell is typically chardonnay with aromas of citrus fruits and lemon. At last, In mouth the wine is dense with a nice freshness. We recognise buttery and nutty aromas.

First, Chardonnay Domaine de La Chesnaie 2020 belongs to Chéreau – Carré family. Then, created in 1960, it produces high quality Muscadet “Sèvre et Maine”. Their wines terroir is located on on the finest schist. They use the best vinification techniques, including harvesting by hand, but also ageing on lees and in bottle.
They have various terroir quality to create a diverse portfolio of Wine.
Chéreau-Carré is also a family story. Today, two generations work closely together to run the four wine producing estates.
