Named after Château Clinet’s CEO, Ronan Laborde,Bordeaux Red Ronan by Clinet 2021 originates from the terroirs of Côtes de Castillon, Bourg, Lussac Saint Emilion and Bordeaux.
Château Clinet has carved its place in history with its eponymous wines. In 2009, the estate added Ronan by Clinet to its range, a collection of unpretentious, generous wines, inspired by the current owner’s philosophy and by the underrated potential of lesser-known terroirs. The labels bring Ronan to life: a dandy speeding along on his bicycle, eager to share the best things in life.
Branded under the Bordeaux appellation, Ronan by Clinet is a vision of a new Bordeaux genre. This 100% merlot wine is crafted by the team from Château Clinet in our new, state-of-the art winery located in the heart of Pomerol.
Grape Variety: 100% Merlot
Tasting Notes: At first, Oak aged to soften the tannins, the nose is expressive with plenty of raspberry. You will also enjoy a good blackberry and cherry fruit with hints of flowers such as violets. Then, on the palate it is deliciously fruity with good structure and excellent acid balance. It has also some fine notes of spices in the finish. Persistent and toothsome. An excellent job from this top producer who built a winery in Pomerol specifically for the production of this little gem. What a superb little wine !
Food Pairing Suggestions: Ronan by Clinet White is delicious as an aperitif. Also a perfect match for pasta dishes, fish or poultry, grilled or in a sauce. Serve lightly chilled at 10°-12°C.
